What is Scalp Micropigmentation (SMP)?

Scalp micro pigmentation (SMP) is a cosmetic tattooing procedure that implants tiny dots that mimic hair follicles. It helps ​camouflage receding and thinning areas, and results in a fuller looking scalp with more colour density.

It can also achieve a shaved or ‘buzzed’ look for people who are experiencing baldness.

Who is Scalp Micropigmentation For?

SMP is the answer for both men and women who may be experiencing a receding hairline, thinning hair, hair loss and/ or pattern ​baldness.

How Many SMP Sessions are Required?

The number of sessions required will vary from person to person depending on their needs and the level of hair ​thinning or hair loss.

In the first session, we will examine the level of hair loss and discuss the clients’ desired results and the level of colour density ​they would like to achieve. The number of sessions needed can vary from person to person depending on their level of thinning or hair-loss as well as a number of other variables. That said, people should expect a minimum of 3 sessions.

Results can be expected to last 2-5 years, but as with all cosmetic tattooing procedures, fading will occur over time, and may ​vary from person to person.

When fading starts to become noticeable, it’s time for a touch up!
