BREAST CANCER SURVIVORS: Regaining Confidence Through Paramedical Tattooing
Breast cancer is an illness that presents many daunting challenges (to say the least), in-particularly the physical, psychological and emotional tolls it takes on survivors.
Today, I'd like to share information and create more awareness about the advances in paramedical tattooing that have opened new ways for survivors to reclaim their bodies and self-esteem... something I feel passionately about.
Paramedical tattooing, a specialized form of tattooing, uses colour and technique to recreate natural-looking features or conceal scars (see above picture examples of my work for reference). In the context of breast cancer, one of its significant applications is areola and nipple reconstruction. This process can significantly enhance the appearance of the breast after a mastectomy or reconstructive surgery, making them look more like they did pre-surgery.
A client of mine, and breast cancer survivor, generously shares her experience after seeing me for the areola tattoo procedure:
“I have to admit that the 3D areola tattoo for me was the best decision I have made since my procedure. It gave me so much more confidence in the way I look at myself. I highly recommend anyone who has gone through this procedure to reach out to Shannon for a consultation. I assure you it will be one of the best decisions you’ll ever make for yourself as well!"
As you can probably infer, the benefits of this procedure aren't limited to the physical. The psychological and emotional aspects are significant. Many women (and men) describe the paramedical tattooing process as the last step in their healing journey.
Paramedical tattooing can play a life-altering role in breast cancer recovery, providing survivors with an opportunity to reclaim their bodies and boost their self-esteem. It's a testament to the strength of these individuals and a symbol of their journey towards recovery and beyond.
My motto and goal is always to provide:
COMPASSION, CARE & CONFIDENCE!
