Scalp Micropigmentation (SMP)

Experiencing hair loss, whether due to alopecia, chemotherapy, genetics, or other conditions, can be incredibly distressing. Medical tattooing offers a non-surgical, transformative solution to restore the appearance of hair density and create a natural-looking hairline.

What is Scalp Micropigmentation (SMP)?

Scalp micro pigmentation (SMP) is a specialized procedure that implants tiny patterns that mimic both hair follicles and fine hair lines.

It helps camouflage receding and thinning areas, resulting in a fuller-looking scalp with more colour and density.

It can achieve a shaved or ‘buzzed’ look for people who are experiencing baldness or pattern baldness, or create a fuller and thicker look for people with thinning hair and exposed scalps.

Who is Scalp Micropigmentation For?

Simply put, SMP is the answer for anyone who may be experiencing a receding hairline, thinning hair, hair loss, and/or pattern baldness.

How Many SMP Sessions are Required?

People should expect a minimum of 3 sessions.

That said, the number of sessions required will vary from person to person depending on their needs and the severity of hair thinning or hair loss.

The level of hair loss/ thinning will be examined during the consultation, and the clients’ desired goals will be discussed, including what they can expect in terms of the outcome and realistic number of sessions.

Results can be expected to last 2-5 years, but as with all medical and cosmetic tattooing procedures, fading will occur over time, and may vary from person to person.

When fading starts to become noticeable, it’s time for a touch-up!

Understanding the Challenge:

Hair loss can manifest in various ways, from thinning hair to complete baldness, significantly impacting one’s self-perception.

The Solution:

I offer different approaches tailored to your specific needs:

  1. Scalp Micropigmentation (SMP): For individuals with complete hair loss or significant thinning, SMP involves depositing tiny, hair-follicle-like impressions onto the scalp. This creates the illusion of a closely shaven head or adds density to thinning areas, mimicking natural hair growth.
  2. Hairline Restoration: SMP can be used to create or redefine a natural-looking hairline, framing the face and restoring a youthful appearance.
  3. Density Enhancement: For clients with diffuse thinning, SMP can add the appearance of greater hair density, reducing the contrast between hair and scalp.
  4. ISR Microneedling (when possible): By combining a medical-grade serum specifically designed for hair regrowth and regeneration with the regenerative effects of micro-traumas caused by microneedling techniques, this approach has yielded positive results for many individuals.
