Scars and stretch marks tell a story, but sometimes that story can feel like a burden. Whether they are the result of surgery, injury, or natural body changes, these marks can impact self-esteem and body image. My approach to scar and stretch mark camouflage and revision is multifaceted, focusing on blending these areas seamlessly with your surrounding skin.
What is Scar Camouflage, Reduction & Revision
Scar camouflage is a non-invasive medical/paramedical micropigmentation procedure that uses microneedling and pigmentation techniques to minimize and conceal the appearance of scars on the skin. Scars can result from various injuries or surgical procedures, and they can often be a source of self-consciousness or psychological trauma for many people.
How Does it Work?
Scar camouflage involves the use of specialized pigments that I carefully match to your natural skin tone. The pigment is then implanted into the scar tissue through micropigmentation, effectively camouflaging the scar and making it blend more seamlessly with the surrounding skin. The result is a smoother, more even appearance that can help you feel more confident and comfortable in your own skin. The process begins with a consultation, during which I will assess the scar and recommend the best course of action to achieve your desired effect.
How Many Treatments are Required / Maintenance Process?
The number of sessions needed will vary depending on the severity of the scar and/or area of trauma.
An estimated number of sessions and a detailed course-of-action plan will be covered in the (mandatory) complimentary consultation session.
Understanding the Challenge:
Scars and stretch marks often have a different texture and colour than healthy skin, making them stand out.
The Solution:
I utilize a combination of advanced techniques:
- Inkless Scar/ Stretchmark Revision (ISR) and Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT) / Microneedling (as a preparatory step, if needed): For some scars, especially those that are raised or deeply textured, I often recommend a preliminary course of microneedling. This process uses medical-grade serums and stimulates collagen production, helping to flatten and smooth the scar tissue, making it more receptive to pigment—if pigment is needed.
- Custom Pigment Matching: I meticulously custom-blend pigments to precisely match your natural skin tone, ensuring a natural and undetectable result. This involves analyzing undertones and variations in your complexion.
- Layering and Feathering Techniques: Through careful layering and feathering, I create the illusion of smooth, even skin, diminishing the appearance of textural irregularities.
