Dark under-eye circles can make you look tired and can be a source of frustration for many. While often genetic or lifestyle-related, medical tattooing can provide a long-lasting solution by neutralizing the dark tones and brightening the under-eye area.
What is Under-Eye Camouflage?
Under-eye camouflage is a non-invasive paramedical, PMU procedure that uses very gentle tattooing techniques to minimize and conceal the appearance of dark circles and under-eye “bags”.
Foundation and concealer cover the skin’s surface and can sometimes draw more attention to the discolouration and fine lines around the eye. THIS treatment implants a skin tone pigment under the skin so you will glow from the inside out!
The skin tone pigments used are customized to each and every individual, using the latest and greatest AI technology … it is a no-fail system!!
How Does it Work?
Under-eye camouflage involves the use of specialized pigments that are flawlessly matched to the client’s natural skin tone. The pigment is then gently tattooed into the under-eye tissue, effectively camouflaging dark circles and blending in seamlessly with the surrounding skin. The result is a smoother, more even appearance that can help you feel more confident and comfortable in your presentation.
How Many Treatments are Required?
The number of sessions needed can vary depending on the severity of discolouration under the eye, but 2 sessions are the minimum to expect.
Understanding the Challenge:
Dark under-eye circles are often caused by visible blood vessels or thin skin that allows underlying structures to show through, resulting in a bluish, purplish, or brownish tint.
The Solution:
This delicate procedure requires extreme precision and a nuanced understanding of colour theory:
- Color Neutralization: I use corrective pigments, often shades of orange or peach, to neutralize the cool tones (blue/purple) or dark tones (brown) that contribute to the appearance of dark circles.
- Brightening Effect: Once the dark tones are neutralized, I can introduce a slightly lighter pigment to brighten the under-eye area, creating a more rested and refreshed appearance.
- Careful Application: The skin under the eyes is extremely thin and delicate, requiring a very gentle touch and specialized techniques to ensure safety and natural-looking results.
- Subtle Enhancement: The goal is not to eliminate all natural shadowing but to subtly correct the discoloration, resulting in a healthier, more vibrant look.
